Blast in Chaman kills two, wounds JUI-F leader

A blast on Chaman’s Taj Road claimed two lives and wounded eight people, hospital sources informed on Saturday. According to rescue sources, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl leader Maulana Mohammad Haneef also got injured in the blast, who was later shifted to Quetta. Four wounded have been shifted to a nearby hospital, added rescue sources. According to police, the blast took place in front of the JUI-F leader’s office. Police said that explosive material was planted inside a motorcycle on roadside, adding that due to the intensity of the blast, windows of several nearby buildings shattered.    

PM Khan briefs UN secretary general Antonio on Kashmir situation

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday met UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in New York and commended him for his clear articulation of the UN position on Kashmir dispute. Guterres during the meeting with PM Imran reiterated his deep concern over the human rights and humanitarian situation in Indian occupied Kashmir. Guterres reaffirmed that he would remain engaged on the issue and conveyed that his offer to help facilitate a peaceful solution continued to stand. Commending the secretary-general for his clear articulation of the UN position on Kashmir dispute, the prime minister briefed him on the 54-days long siege of over eight million Kashmiris amidst communications blackout. Such draconian lock-down had no parallel in recent history and the need for its immediate lifting could not be stressed enough. Airplane carrying PM Imran, his delegation Makes Emergency Landing In New York

The airplane carrying Prime Minister Imran Khan and his delegation back to Pakistan after a successful tour of the United States was rerouted to New York on Friday after developing a technical fault. According to reports, the minor technical fault was being fixed and there was no cause for concern. The technical fault was noticed when the airplane was near Toronto. PM Imran will spend the rest of the night in New York and board the airplane once the technical fault has been fixed. It is not immediately clear when the fault will be fixed.
