PM reiterates to support Small & Medium Enterprises for robust economic growth through exports

Prime Minister Imran Khan has reiterated his government's resolve to support Small and Medium Enterprises for a robust economic growth through exports.

Addressing the launching ceremony of National SME Policy 2021 in Islamabad today [Wednesday], he said PTI government is taking every possible step to facilitate the youth in establishing businesses including startups.

Underlining the importance of SMEs in country's development, he urged the private sector to facilitate government's initiative of providing more facilities to new businesses.

The Prime Minister said stern action will be taken against all those elements that can create hurdles in the way of exports and agriculture industry.

He said all impediments are being removed to facilitate the registration process of SMEs.

Imran Khan said despite COVID-19 challenges, our government received record remittances, tax collection and export revenue.

Earlier, Minister for Industries and Production Khusro Bakhtiar said to facilitate new businesses we have fixed around nineteen thousand plots for lease on easy installments.

He said an amount of thirty billion rupees will be fixed for revamping SMEDA to facilitate SME sector.

3rd U-19 Women T20: South Africa beat Pakistan by 52 runs

In the third T20 of the five-match series in Karachi, South Africa Under-19 women's team defeated Pakistan Under-19 women's team by 52 runs tonight. Military court case: SC rejects govt plea for constitution of full court bench

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has rejected a government plea to constitute a full court bench to decide the issue of civilian trials in military courts. The government had urged the court to set up a full court on the question. The was heard by a six-member larger bench headed by Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial, which reserved its judgment on Tuesday. The bench ruled that judges were not available for the constitution of full court bench due to summer vacations. The bench includes Justice Ijazul Ahsan, Justice Muneeb Akhtar, Justice Yahya Afridi, Justice Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi and Justice Ayesha Malik.
