Senate elections: MQM-P leader Mansoor withdraws candidature in favour of PPP's Khuhro

Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Khawaja Sohail Mansoor has announced his resignation in favour of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Nisar Khuhro in the Senate elections.

Talking to media at the ECP office along with Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Nisar Khuhro, Khawaja Sohail Mansoor said: “I am present here in personal capacity. I have old relations with Nisar Khuhro. I will not submit my nomination papers for the Senate seat against him. Nisar Khuhro is a senator for me from today.”

He said that if the Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) had not decided to field a candidate then there should be no disagreement. “This seat belongs to the PPP and the PPP should get it,” the MQM leader said.

Khuhro is a Sindhi politician who is the President of the Pakistan Peoples Party for Sindh.

Khuhro is the Advisor of Chief Minister of Sindh on Works & Services and also on Universities & Boards since 2019. with the status of a provincial minister. He is also serving as the Pro-Chancellor of all public universities in Sindh.
