Nation marks silver jubilee of Youm-e-Takbeer
The day, now remembered as Youm-e-Takbeer, is celebrated every year across the country as a day of national pride and thanksgivings which made Pakistan the seventh nuclear nation of the world and the first Muslim state, having the nuclear arsenal in its defense stockpile to exercise maximum deterrence for peaceful purposes.
The tests not only demonstrated the resolve of the Pakistani nation to safeguard Pakistan’s territorial integrity, independence and sovereignty, but also the desire to preserve strategic balance in South Asia.
The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a special statement issued said,“ Today, the complete Pakistani nation celebrates the Silver Jubilee of Youm-e-Takbeer and commemorates the remarkable achievement of establishing Credible Minimum Deterrence.“
ISPR DG said this achievement has reshaped the power dynamics in our region.
Pakistan Army statement reads, “Armed Forces pay rich tribute to the brilliant minds who conceived and achieved this accomplishment under daunting challenges. We salute the scientists and engineers who turned the impossible into a reality. Long Live Pakistan.”
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said the country’s defence, sovereignty, national dignity and freedom was above everything to the nation and no one had the courage to take away its freedom.
In a message on the occasion of Youm-Takbir to mark the day of nuclear tests carried out by Pakistan in 1998, the prime minister said the day reminded that for the defence, solidarity and national interests, they would not budge from any sacrifice.
Senate Chairman Sadiq Sinjrani said Takbir Day is a symbol of national pride, unparalleled courage and bravery.
Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf and Deputy Speaker National Assembly Zahid Akram Durrani have felicitated the entire nation on the eve of 28th May when Pakistan became internationally recognized 1st Islamic atomic Power.
On the occasion of Youm-e-Takbeer, Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf expressed his believe that Pakistan defence was rendered unreachable by achieving this status of being atomic power.
He strongly condemned the vandalism at military installations and martyrs monuments on 9th May.
Deputy Speaker National Assembly Zahid Akram Durrani said 28th May remind nation’s resolve to make defence of motherland unreachable.
He also condemned the vandalism on 9th May and termed it as the darkest day in the political history.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor said May 28 was the golden day in country’s history.
Balochistan Governor paid rich tribute to all the people who made the country’s defense invincible remained steadfast against the difficulties.
